Emergency Dental Care in Midtown Manhattan
A toothache, a broken tooth, or a knocked-out tooth needs prompt care. Al Dental Studio offers same-day appointments and welcomes walk-ins, Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Call first if you can, so we are ready for you when you arrive.
When to call us right away
- Severe or throbbing toothache
- A cracked, chipped, or broken tooth
- A tooth that has been knocked out or loosened
- A lost filling or crown
- Swelling in the gums or face
- A broken or loose denture, bridge, or other restoration
Go to a hospital emergency room or call 911 for facial swelling that makes it hard to breathe or swallow, heavy bleeding that will not stop, a high fever, or injury to the jaw or head.
What to do before you get here
- Knocked-out tooth: hold it by the crown, not the root. Rinse gently without scrubbing, and try to place it back in the socket. If you cannot, keep it in milk and come in as quickly as possible.
- Broken tooth: rinse with warm water, save any pieces, and use a cold compress on your cheek to reduce swelling.
- Toothache: rinse with warm salt water and gently floss to clear anything caught between the teeth. Do not put aspirin directly on the gum.
- Lost crown: keep the crown and bring it with you.
What happens at your visit
We examine the area, take any X-rays needed, and relieve your pain first. Dr. Heifitz then explains what caused the problem and your treatment options, which may be completed the same day or planned for a follow-up visit.
Cost and insurance
We accept most PPO insurance plans. Call our office to confirm yours, and we will go over your benefits and the cost of your treatment plan before anything begins.
